The Office – March 2020

FASEA Exam

After the Royal Commission there has been a number of changes to our industry and one of those is the new education standards and an exam is a part of that. FASEA (Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority) have set an exam that all advisers must complete before 2021. The three and a half hour exam tests knowledge on key pieces of regulation, financial advice construction and the FASEA code of ethics. We’re very happy to say that Rhiannon, Pete and Zac all got on the front foot and sat the exam last year and have all passed!

Four Day Work Week

We’ve started trialling a four day work week in the Pekada office after doing productivity training late last year. The idea is that both productivity and happiness soar as a result. The days are alternated between staff members so the office is always open and your adviser will still be able to be reached via text message if anything is super urgent but there will be someone in the office to help with any of your queries. To read more about the four day work week head here.

Footy Tipping Is Back!

After a result that came down to the wire with only one correct tip in it last year, the Pekada footy tipping is back! With big prizes to be won it’s a good chance to show your footy knowledge and win some prizes along the way. New face around the office!

We have a new financial planning intern starting with us next month. Luke is fresh out of a financial planning degree and looking to wrap his head around the exciting and wonderful world that is financial planning. If you are meeting with your adviser in the coming months, don’t be surprised if you see a new face around the office. Please join us in welcoming Luke to the Pekada team!

Family Day Fun

The Pekada team had a family day at B.Lucky and Sons in Docklands for some bowling and arcade games.  Was a great chance for the kids and big kids alike to get together for some fun and the chance at bragging rights. The competition was close but the win eventually went to Brent with a score in the 160’s! Check out the photos below.
